Southern Minnesota's most complete Home Furnishings Center!

Ray Arends originally founded Trade Mart in 1935.  The store sold slightly damaged and salvage merchandise, most of which was acquired from railroad and shipping companies.

Al Larson purchased Trade Mart on April 1st, 1961.  Business grew with time, as did the company.  A store was opened in Marshall, MN, for Martin Larson, Al's brother.  Another store was opened in Austin, MN, for Erma Olson, Al's sister.

Upon his siblings' retirements, both the Marshall and Austin stores were sold.  In 1984, the Rochester Trade Mart moved to 3050 Seventh Street NW, where the business still flourishes under the name, "Trade Mart the Furniture Center".

Transformed from a roller rink, marina, and pub, this new location originally provided a 19,000 square foot show floor.  Today, we have grown to provide a 50,000 square foot showroom, on-site warehousing, front door parking, and the area's largest and most complete home furnishings center.
